Summer is finally here! In Belgium, that mainly means one thing: Music Festivals! Then, the My Robot Doll Team decided to use this opportunity to test if everyone could enjoy a chill summer outside, including our Mini Doll, Lia. We were also curious to see what would be the public's reactions if we brought her along… So we went to Tomorrowland to find out and we will tell you all about it in this blog post, which also includes a video interview with attendees! 1. A Bit About Tomorrowland Music Festival
Started in 2005, Tomorrowland is an electronic music festival that aims to deliver an unforgettable experience. Inspired by Disneyland, it creates its own unique, magical world. With 16 incredible stages and 750 of the best electronic music artists, it has attracted over 400,000 attendees from all over the world.
2. Why is Tomorrowland so Important to Belgium?
Electronic music is a significant part of Belgian culture, alongside comic strips, beer, and chocolate. Tomorrowland is considered by many the Number 1 electronic music festival in the world. Its massive scale brings people from around the globe, showcasing Belgium's rich culture and attracting worldwide attention with renowned artists, music fans and brands. The festival supports local talent like David Guetta and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
Tomorrowland also offers unique local cuisine, allowing visitors to savor Belgian specialties such as fries, tons of Belgian beer and waffles!
Our team enjoyed delicious waffles with strawberries and chocolate syrup, and one member in particular finished all the waffles herself (see the evidence below):
3. Who is MRD's Mascot, Lia?
The hungry gal you see in the picture above is Lia, the mascot of My Robot Doll. Since launching the Mini Dolls collection earlier this year, including Fantasy Figure, Mozu and Climax dolls, we fell in love with these small cuties. So, we decided to order Lia, the Fantasy Figure Head F7 60cm. Naturally, after a few months, she became our mascot! She’s so spontaneous that she demanded her own exclusive photoshoot on our website, which you can check out HERE.
4. Why did we take Lia to Tomorrowland?
Since the festival's motto is "United Forever," and we do believe music brings people together, we wanted to merge this spirit with the doll world. Why can’t a fun, cute doll connect people? She brought our team closer at the office, so why wouldn’t she be an interesting topic among friends? And most importantly, be a point of connection and reassurance in a new experience?
We put everything to the test, and now Lia’s taking over the next section to tell you all about her Tomorrowland Experience!
5. Lia Shares Her First Festival Experience!
Hey there, it’s Lia! Nice to finally meet you guys, it was about time! Well, a little bit about me: I’m 18, and my three favorite things are modeling for photos, documenting my life (I want to be an influencer!), and now, music!
I had a blast at Tomorrowland! Here's a picture of how excited and happy I was right after we collected our festival bracelets:
As we walked, so many people approached us! Girls complimented me, guys got curious, and some even took pictures with me. I already felt like a famous influencer. People touched me to feel how soft and realistic I am, which was a new but nice experience (all with mine and my friends permission of course). The concerts and stages were amazing; my favorite stage was Core. Swedish House Mafia's concert was dope!!
We’re working on a Tomorrowland 2024 vlog where I’ll appear, so stay tuned!
After we ate our waffles (I believe you’ve seen this picture here, it was good) We even ran into a guy with a Charmander bag! Naturally, I had to get a picture with him. Everyone thought I was cute, and I had the best time ever!
I also got interested in anime, which might become my fourth passion. Now, it's time to give the computer back to my friends. Hope to talk to you guys soon! Leave a comment if you want more, and maybe my dream of becoming a famous influencer will come true!
6. Main Public Reactions on Sex Dolls
We asked festivalgoers some questions and showed them our website. The reactions were quite interesting! You can find the full video here:
Some people were excited to try, some were impressed by the realism, and others just laughed. Overall, the reactions were positive.
7. Anime Fans Talk About Waifus, Mini Dolls and Sex Dolls
As Lia mentioned, we asked people about their favorite animes and even waifus! The anime interviews are also in the same video above, starting at minute 1:54. You can add subtitles in English or French.
People were open-minded and genuinely curious, especially regarding Lia’s material. We believe that some people thought she was a BJD (Ball-Jointed Doll) and were surprised by how soft she felt! Also, the otakus were sweet and passionate about their favorite anime. Would you add any to their list?
8. Our Honest Review About Bringing a Mini Doll Outside
Overall, people were open to talking about sex dolls and reacted well to Lia! This weekend, Tomorrowland hosted more than 400,000 festivalgoers, giving us a great sample to test.
We met new people, had fun, and discovered that while there is still a stereotype around sex dolls, people took it in a playful and nice way.
Lia was a great conversation starter, allowing us to socialize more, but we also had a chill, enjoyable time with her. The perfect balance!
We hope this post motivates you to pursue what you enjoy and make the most of the good weather. Fear should never stop you from doing what you love, especially if you want to enjoy summer outside with a special companion to cherish those lovely moments. We wish you a great summer!
